Description

A contemporary Baroque version of geranium highlights the raw grace of the precious olfactory material.

A surprisingly elegant dead nature in the perfume, Pelargonium portrays its homonymous ingredient as one of the mysterious floral compositions of the Dutch paintings of the golden age.

"My aesthetic inspiration was an old school flower that everyone thinks they know, even if nobody really knows it," says the perfume Nathalie Feisthauer, who extracts the geranium from the depths of the olfactory pyramid to show its complex facets, using newly crushed leaves They shed light on dark woods and resins.

Yet this 2017 work is not the garden variety of red geranium. The Pelargonium Graveolens, whose name means "with a sweet scent", produces one of the most versatile essences of perfumery. Distilled by the leaves of the plant rather than by its flowers, this geranium has long been used as a fresh rosé note, hence its vernacular name, "pink geranium".

Here, says Feisthauer, geranium is less fruity and balsamic, almost similar to incense, acting as a central motif of this intriguing composition. The perfume starts by spreading a canvas of fresh Iris notes on an ordered cedar wood frame. Then he paints a dark and smoky background of Vetiver Haiti, Guaiaco and Muschio wood. Traveled by reflections of Cardamomo Verde, the golden light of the Calabrian bergamot pervades the scene, captured by richly structured ingredients that bring volume and contrast to the composition. The herbaceous sweetness of the carrot enriches the Iris agreement; Sage Sclara Ambrata suggests the softness of the velvety leaves. The resin of Elemi, lemon, pepper and similar to incense is enhanced while a haze of mosses smooth its edges.

Aedes de Venustas Pelargonium has now been carefully transferred to a new precious container: a grooved glass bottle characterized by peacock accents, a matte black cap with impressed coats of arms and an elegant but heavy design that marks the next chapter of the history of Aedes de Venustas. .

As he is worn, Pelargonium's majestic bouquet takes on a sober and abstract beauty, an evolving work of art that freely transmits its beauty on the skin.
